Sign-Making Software and Apparel Design Software:

The majority of the sign-making and apparel design software programs include their own drivers within the software, they do not rely upon the Windows system printers/plotters. If the software you are using does not have any drivers, such as CorelDRAW!, see the section on Generic Windows Drivers.

AutoCAD:

Ioline wrote four drivers specifically for AutoCAD.

1. AutoCAD 10 & 11 use the same driver.
   The file to download is acad1011.exe (self extracting archive, 49K). A readme.doc is included for simple installation instructions. There are also other drivers within these versions of AutoCAD that the plotters will emulate. In the plotter configuration menu, you may select Houston Instruments. (see note below).
   
   
2. AutoCAD 12 for DOS and AutoCAD 12 for Windows.
   The file to download is pliol.exe (self extracting archive, 88K). There are two drivers in this file, pliol.dll is the Windows driver, and pliol.exp is the DOS driver. A readme.doc is included for simple installation instructions. There are also other drivers within these versions of AutoCAD that the plotter will emulate. In the plotter configuration menu, you may select Houston Instruments. (see note below).
   
   
3. AutoCAD 13 & 14.
   Ioline only wrote a driver for the DOS version of AutoCAD 13. The file to download is acad13.exe (self extracting archive, 59K). However, our plotters will emulate other plotters whose drivers are in the Windows versions of AutoCAD 13 and 14. In the plotter configuration menu, you may select Houston Instruments or HP plotters, many of which will work as drivers for the Ioline plotters. If your Ioline plotter was manufactured prior to October of 1987, it may not recognize the HP-GL language, in which case it would be best to select one of the Houston Instruments plotters (see note below).
   
   
4. AutoCAD LT.
   Ioline did not write a driver for this program. See the section on Generic Windows Drivers.

Note: There are several Houston Instruments drivers that you can emulate to use with an Ioline plotter. For example: DMP-52, DMP-56, DMP-62.

Generic Windows Drivers:

Ioline does not write any generic Windows drivers. Most signmaking software includes the necessary drivers to connect an Ioline plotter to your computer. If your design software does not come with its own drivers, there are other ways to send the design to the plotter.

For example many of the sigmaking software companies, such as Scanvec, Amiable Technologies, and others, have products that can import files from popular graphic applications such as CorelDRAW!™, FreeHand, Adobe Illustrator™, and other graphics programs. These products are generally much less expensive than a full sign making software package. Contact the software manufacturers for futher information.

An HP-GL driver called Winline Plus is also being used with various Windows programs. For information on this driver, please contact the following companies:
